Rovers remain in cup action in midweek as they travel to face Sky Bet League Two side Notts County in the final group game of the Checkatrade Trophy.
Rovers make the short journey to Nottingham following Sunday’s 2-2 draw in the FA Cup away at National League North high-flyers Chorley, with Herbie Kane at the double.
Notts on the other hand will be looking to bounce back from FA Cup defeat after they went down 4-0 to Barnsley at Oakwell on Saturday.
Brief history of Notts County
Notts County were founded in 1862, and they hold the distinction of being the oldest professional football club in the world, and they were founder members of the English Football League in 1888.
They play at the 19,841-capacity Meadow Lane stadium, which has been their home since 1910.
Their nickname is the Magpies which derives from their black and white shirts in which they primarily play in. The Magpies’ black and white shirts have a lot of history, with Italian giants Juventus taking inspiration for their own kit from that of County’s back in 1903.
It is said that Juve considered the colours to be aggressive and powerful, and when their new stadium in Turin was opened in 2011, County were invited over to play an exhibition game as part of the opening ceremony. Luca Toni opened the scoring for Juve, before Lee Hughes scored three minutes from time to seal a famous 1-1 draw for the Magpies.

The Magpies are without a permanent manager following the departure of Harry Kewell on Tuesday afternoon. Steve Chettle is expected to oversee Wednesday's Checkatrade Trophy clash.
Ones to watch
Kristian Dennis
The frontman joined the Magpies from Chesterfield over the summer after scoring 19 goals in League Two last season. Dennis came to the attention of Stockport County in 2013 following successful spells with Mossley and Curzon Ashton, before an impressive loan spell at Macclesfield Town during the 2015/16 season saw him score 22 goals in 38 league games for the Silkmen. This earnt him a move to Derbyshire with Chesterfield in 2016, and after an impressive 2017/18 season on a personal level with the Spireites, Dennis made the move to Meadow Lane this summer.
Cedric Evina
The left-back will need little introduction to Rovers fans, having spent the best part of four years in South Yorkshire. Evina began his career with Arsenal, winning the FA Youth Cup with the Gunners in 2009, before joining Oldham Athletic permanently in the early part of 2011 following a successful previous loan spell. That summer, he left for Charlton Athletic and he went on to help the Addicks win the League One title in 2012. He joined Rovers in 2014, and played 16 games during the 2016/17 season which saw Rovers return to League One at the first time of asking after promotion from the fourth tier. Evina spent last season on loan to Crawley Town from Rovers, before joining County in September following his release from the Keepmoat Stadium.
Enzio Boldewijn
The Dutch winger is another former Crawley man now plying his trade with the Magpies. Boldewijn joined County over the summer, joining on a three-year deal from Crawley for a six-figure sum. He played in his home county with FC Utrecht and hometown club Almere City before his move to West Sussex, and he scored his first goal in a Red Devils shirt against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the EFL Cup. After hitting double figures for goals from midfield last season, he was snapped up by the Magpies and has already scored three times from out on the flanks this term.
Last time out
Rovers came from behind to beat the Magpies at the Keepmoat Stadium back in March 2017 in League Two. Richard Duffy put County in front after 20 minutes, before goals from James Coppinger and Mathieu Baudry either side of the break saw Rovers turn the game on its head. The Magpies pushed for an equaliser in added time and with goalkeeper Adam Collin up for a corner, Rovers broke away and Andy Williams slotted into the empty net to seal three points.
Williams would also be the man to secure three points on Rovers last visit to Meadow Lane, with his solitary goal the difference between the two sides on Boxing Day in 2016.
