Hume Heads In On Loan

31 August 2012

Doncaster Rovers are pleased to announce the signing of Scottish born Canadian International striker Iain Hume.

Hume, who started his professional career at the age of 16 with Tranmere Rovers, signs on loan from League One rivals Preston North End until January 1st.

Under the management of Brian Little, Hume quickly became a fans favourite at Tranmere earning rave review at a young age.

His performances for the Merseyside outfit earned him a move to Leicester City in August 2005 for a fee believed to be £750,000. Hume went on to make 122 appearances for the Foxes scoring 33 goals.

In July 2008, Barnsley parted with £1.2m to secure the services of the frontman who justified his price tag with a goal on debut against QPR at Loftus Road. In total Hume managed 9 goals during his time at Oakwell, before a moving to Preston North End after a successful loan spell.

Hume, who scored seventeen goals last term for Preston, will be available for tomorrow’s game against top of the table Yeovil Town.
