Rovers Club Secretary Retires

1 August 2012

Jenny who spent seven years at Rovers, has decided to hang up her football boots and go for a more sedate lifestyle at home.

It was a sad day at the Keepmoat Stadium yesterday as Club Secretary Jenny Short retired from football after over 30 years involvement.

Jenny was involved in the move from Belle Vue to the Keepmoat Stadium, the Johnstone’s Paint Final at the Millennium Stadium and the play off final at Wembley during her eventful time at the club.

Goalkeeper Neil Sullivan called in to wish her good luck from all of the playing staff and joined the back room who staff gathered to wish her good luck on the next stage of her life.

‘I have enjoyed my time at this great club and will miss everyone”.

Jenny: “During my time in football I have made many notes about the things that have happened throughout the years, retirement will give me a chance to write it all up now - they say sometimes fact is stranger than fiction in football.

Everyone at Doncaster Rovers Football Club will certainly miss Jenny. Her professionalism in the execution of her duties has been exemplary, and has long been recognized by her contemporaries at The Football League.

Happy retirement Jenny, and best wishes for the future!
