Rovers notched their first League goals against Wycombe but could not come away with all three points as they drew 2-2 at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Rovers had the first chance to open the scoring after 10 minutes but James Coppinger’s ball across the face of goal was diverted by Will De Havilland’s outstretched leg, before Niall Mason’s subsequent shot went wide.
Moments later, Coppinger was at the end of another brilliant chance, but couldn’t produce the required touch to divert John Marquis’ brilliant flick in the box into the net.
Despite Rovers having had the better of the chances up to that point, it was Matt Bloomfield who opened the scoring for the visitors in the 19th minute with an acrobatic overhead kick which Ross Etheridge could do nothing about.
Wycombe’s lead lasted all of 10 minutes, as Coppinger and Tommy Rowe darted down the pitch on a counter attack and combined for Rowe to knock in Coppinger’s cross to even the score.
It looked like Rowe might double his tally in the 33rd minute as he danced past defender after defender in the box, but in the end his effort rolled just wide of the far post, much to the crowd’s dismay.
Marquis who got on the scoresheet next as he produced a series of brilliant touches which left Wycombe’s defence completely bemused, and slotted home to notch a stunning solo goal and give Rovers the lead at the break.

Jordan Houghton set Coppinger up one on one with Jamal Blackman on the hour mark, but the skipper’s shot was blocked by the goalkeeper.
Wycombe were pushing hard for an equaliser, and they finally got it in the 78th minute as Matt Bloomfield found the back of the net yet again when he turned in a rebound from Etheridge’s initial save.
Despite their best efforts, Rovers were not able to find the winning goal and the game finished 2-2.
