Sky Bet Championship
Yeovil Town 1 Doncaster Rovers 0
Referee - Mr Darren Drysdale
Attendance - 4,934

It was a fine and sunny afternoon with a cold breeze blowing, in rain sodden Somerset, when Rovers arrived at Huish Park. Rovers made two changes from last week, Paul Quinn coming in for the injured Gabriel Tamas and Richie Wellens returning from suspension to replace Dean Furman, who drops to the bench.

Rovers defended the end where their fans were situated and got the game underway.

In the third minute, Brown was fouled 25yards out but Duffy's kick was blocked and the home team went on to the attack, with Miller shooting wide from 25yards.

Minutes later and Brown passed inside to Bowery, who fired in a good low shot that Stech had to go down to his left to push away.

Yeovil made a substitution in the 10th minute when Kieffer Moore came on for Miller, who appeared to have a leg injury.

General midfield play ensued before Holmes, for the home team hit a shot high and over the bar from just outside of the penalty area.

Yeovil then won the first corner of the game but it was cleared by Coppinger to set Rovers on the attack but nothing came from it.

In the 21st minute Rovers won a corner that Duffy placed to the far post for Brown to get in a header but it was blocked and then cleared.

The home team were awarded a free kick on their left in the 27th minute that brought a stooping header from Webster, which Johnstone pushed out for a corner.

Rovers were having slightly the better of the play and were playing well but couldn't work the keeper, with the home defence providing good cover.

Past the half hour and a corner to the Rovers was cleared. In the 37th minute, Ayling got down the home right before putting a good cross over for Moore to get in a diving header from 12 yards but Johnstone saved comfortably.

Yeovil finished the half on the attack but the teams went in with the scoreline remaining as it had started.

Half Time - Yeovil Town 0 Doncaster Rovers 0

Yeovil got the second half going but good work by Coppinger on the right saw his low cross blocked before his second effort was put out for a corner, which Brown headed wide at the near post.

Then a quick break out of defence by Rovers ended with Duffy on the left firing into the side netting.

In the 54th minute Holmes, for Yeovil, got in a cross from the right that Hayter met with a header from close range but Johnstone saved.

At the other end Brown pulled a ball back for Duffy but his shot from 15yards was high over the bar.

Holmes then got to the byline before being brought down by Husband. The assistant referee indicated a penalty be awarded and the referee duly obliged. That well known penalty taker, James HAYTER, stepped up and blasted it into the net.

Rovers hit back and piled on the pressure but still couldn't bring a save out of the keeper as the Yeovil defence stood firm.

As Rovers went on all-out attack they left gaps at the back which Yeovil tried to penetrate. A corner to the home team was punched away by Johnstone and they constantly pushed Rovers back to stop them dictating play.

In the 81st minute, Edwards crossed from the right and Moore headed for the top corner of the net but Johnstone clawed it away and it was cleared.

The big Yeovil defence constantly thwarted the Rovers attacks to the end of the game so that when the referee blew the final whistle Yeovil picked up the three points by virtue of their single goal win.
